Families are decisive for Germany's long-term economic suc-cess / Family as a location factor

As tomorrow’s skilled workers, children shape the long-term development of growth and prosperity in Germany. Not only their number, but also their successful education is of decisive importance. A good development environment for children is therefore advantageous to the economy also. However, family policy benefits that start today only pay off after decades. Therefore, family policy often has a very difficult passage through legislature, especially in unfavourable budgetary situations.
